In the final round, the black players almost had a clean sweep, with 4 wins and 1 draw. ![]()
Sky Moerlien went undefeated to finish the event in clear 1st at 4.5. In the game to decide 2nd, Ethan Stetch drew, also going undefeated to cinch that position with 4.![]()
Rounding out the event, AJ Dudenheoffer, Henry Heil, Isaac Drum, and Dexter Rosequist all finished with 3.0 getting to win the Class B, tied Class C, and U1200 prizes respectively. David Reavis won the Class B prize with 2.![]()
Special thanks to the MSU Chess club (and club sponsor Nick Beatty) in securing the location and the players for joining us for a couple of days playing chess. Thanks also to Springfield Chess club member John Last for donating some books as prizes from the Chess library of the late Marty Phillips.

Fourth round has started. Going into day two AJ Dudenhoeffer is the only player with a perfect 3.0. Sky Moerlien and Ethan Stech fought a long battle to a draw in round three, following close behind AJ at 2.5.
