Casual Chess for teens begins Monday, Feb. 25. No need for fanciness; this is a low-key, hang out, friendly game experience from 6:00-7:30 pm in the Teen Department. Formal instruction will *not* be provided.

JPL Open was able to raise $251 for the Joplin Public Library Chess Club through rated entries and generous donations.Thank you to Joplin Chess Club for helping support the JPL Chess Club!
The Unrated section was combined due to the number of players. For the adult/open players in that section, Gary White took 1st (and 1st overall) with 3.5 and Jeff Swift took 2nd.
In Unrated K-12, Quentin Fitzpatrick and Zack Muench tied, with three points each, for 2nd overall. Quentin won the K-12 plaque on tiebreaks and Zack received a medal. Also medalling were Harry Heil and Devin Muench with 2 points each.
