First JPL Children's department chess club since last year. Four kids came out to play.
Four States Summer Open is a go. Lower turnout than hoped for, but 10 players from MO and KS are here playing some chess.

Also, in a little over a month, the Missouri State Championship will be held in Springfield, September 18-19. In addition the Springfield and MSU clubs will be hosting GM Ramirez on September 17th at the event site. Finally, the Joplin club has begun meeting for Tuesday night study again, at Hardee's on South Main; if you would like to attend, you should be there before 8 (contact us for more details).
