Last weekend we held the 2020 JPL Online Open event and had 8 players attend to help raise some money for the Joplin Public Library Children's Department and Chess Club. ![]()

Brian Rude swept the field with a perfect 4.0 run to take clear 1st place. At 3.0, Matthew Pratt finished in clear 2nd place. ![]()

This week we plan on presenting the Children's Department with the proceeds and donations from the event, so if you would still like to contribute, let us know.![]()

Looking forward to 2021, we don't know what might be possible on the event front. We're looking at the possibility of a scaled-down and more socially distant Four States Winter Open but if the situation warrants it, we may end up doing an online event as well. If you have any thoughts for that or other events, please let us know.
