[ February 12, 2011; 5:00 am; ] On February 12th, the Joplin Chess Club held its 1st tournament of the year. Luckily the weather cooperated, mostly, with warmer temperatures melting most of the snow and ice on the roads.

[ January 22, 2011; 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. ] This last Saturday (January 22th, 2011), 7 members of the Joplin Chess club traveled to Springfield to play a club versus club quick tournament (G/29). Turnout was better than expected as 8 players from the Springfield club attended, leaving one player that had to sit out, due to the format. Parings were in a Scheveningen [...]

Chess Study Night
