April 3, 2009 – Springfield Friday Night Tournament – Springfield-MO
Check-in/Registration 7:00 PM. Round starts at 7:30 PM. Game 90 minutes. USCF rated. Friday games will be rated together.
April 10, 2009 – Springfield Friday Night Tournament (Free) – Springfield-MO
Check-in/Registration 7:00 PM. Round starts at 7:30 PM. Game 90 minutes. USCF rated. Friday games will be rated together.
April 11, 2009 – Springfield Saturday Tournament – Springfield-MO
Game 90 minutes. 3 rounds. Registration 9:30-9:50 AM. Rounds at 10 AM, 1:30 PM, 4:30 PM. Entry fee: $10, but free to highest rated and person traveled farthest. 6 people with similar rating compete for 1 prize ($45). And higher score among U1900 wins an hour chess lesson from Craig la Salle (expert and personal tutor of 2007 New York high school champion). The lesson is given after the tournament finishes. USCF rated.
Also, bonus non-USCF K-12 Grade section: Entry fee: $5. One USCF membership awarded for every 6 kids. 4 rounds. Registration 9:30-9:50 AM. Rounds at 10, 11, 12:30, and 1:30 PM. Ending at 2 PM
April 12, 2009 – Springfield Sunday Tournament – Springfield-MO
Game 15 minutes. 7 Rounds. Registration noon-12:15 PM. Rounds at 12:20, 1, 1:30, 2, 2:30, 3, 3:30 PM. Entry fee: $10, but free to highest rated and person traveled farthest. 6 people with similar rating compete for 1 prize ($45). And higher score among U1900 wins an hour chess lesson from Craig la Salle (expert and personal tutor of 2007 New York high school champion). The lesson is given after the tournament finishes. April 12, 2009 – Craig la Salle Simultaneous Chess – Springfield-MO
Begins at 6PM. Craig la Salle an expert player and professional chess coach from New York will play everybody at the same time. After the games are finished he will review the games and tell each person how to improve their chess.
This event cost $5 per person.
This is a good deal and a rare event. So we should support it, so that we continue to have such events in southwest Missouri.
