Turnout for the event was very good, with many of our regulars, some returning players from past events and a few new players. The playing field was pretty strong and many good games were played.

This endgame study is from an old game I played, as white, against Michael Farren, as black, in 1996 at the old Java House. Back then I didn’t know the right technique for this particular endgame and ended up losing, though I would have been able to draw had I known.
